Organization Overview
In 1989, two mothers had a vision to create a learning environment in which students with educational gaps could feel supported and successful. From this vision, Center School was born. Thousands of students have experienced incredible educational growth as a result of our renowned, well-respected, and incredibly effective programming.
Driving onto our campus, families view 14 beautiful acres in the Philadelphia suburb of Abington, in which Center School is situated. When families and students enter our building, they immediately experience a welcoming and warm environment, meeting faculty, staff, and administration who are fully committed to the School's mission and the growth of our students. We purposefully are a small community. A low student-teacher ratio enables us to offer personalized instruction to each student.
Our faculty collectively have over 150 years of experience, with the majority holding master’s degrees and certifications for meeting the academic and social needs of our students. Our curriculum is multi-faceted reflecting our understanding of supporting the academic and social-emotional needs of students diagnosed with dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, and ADHD.
Center School’s effective and successful programming has led to students achieving between one and one-half to two years of reading growth in one year.
To us, your child is more than a diagnosis, and your family is more than an enrollment number. We are focused on supporting the whole child, and you are an essential part of our model. Together, we will focus on your child and their academic success!
