Empowered Educators: Women Leading the Charge in School Finance & Governance

Monday, February 24, 2025
8:00 AM - 3:30 PM (EST)

Hosted in partnership with The Heads Network, the seminar is for Alumnae of THN’s Women’s Leadership Seminar and aspiring female leaders from THN and ADVIS member schools.

About the Seminar:

According to NAIS, 45% of independent schools are now led by women, up from 26% in 2015. The trend is going in the right direction, and yet many women still report feeling unqualified and underprepared for headship in the areas of finance, fundraising, and governance–even if they have relevant experience. In an effort to address this concern, The Heads Network and ADVIS are joining forces to offer a day-long workshop designed to educate and empower aspiring women leaders. The event will include:

  • A 3-hour deep dive into the inner workings of independent school finance

  • Breakout sessions on fundraising, governance, and building a strong team

  • Opportunities to (re)connect and network with colleagues in the ADVIS region

The Presenters:
  • Pam Clarke, former Head of School, founder of Pam Clarke Consulting
  • Ayanna Hill-Gill, President, ADVIS
  • Dr. Laura Hotchkiss, Head of School, Academy of Notre Dame
